The State of Uttarakhand also known as devbhumi, or the land of God's, wears a mantle
of mountain ranges, which endow it with a breathtaking natural beauty and sheer range of
diversity. 83 peaks in Uttarakhand are open to mountaineers. These high mountain areas cover
a substantial geographical area of the State, forming important catchments of major river
system in India, and are a repository of rich Himalayan biodiversity.

Opening and Close Time
The Central valley in the Kumaon is the valley of the Milam glacier. Beside its eastern branch is an excellent climbing area of Kalabaland glacier. The peak Chiring We (6559 m) rises from the Kalabaland glacier and was climbed only once in 1979 by the Indian team led by Harish Kapadia. To its south, is Suitilla (6373 m) a most formidable and difficult goal. At the head of the Milam glacier are the enciting peaks Hardeol (7151 m) and Tirsuli (7074 m). Nanda Devi East has been climbed from this valley. Panch Chuli is the south eastern valley of this section in the Kumaon. It has five different peaks which were conquered with great difficulty, both from the East and the West.

Charges
As soon as a request for booking of a peak is received by the IMF from an expedition, the IMF will earmark the peak/peaks provisionally, subject to the availability, and inform the leader of the expedition and forward necessary documents and forms for required action by the leader of the expedition team. Thereafter, the leader should send the handling charges together with the application form, at the following rates:

After sucessfull verifevation done by forest department of uttarakhand a permit issued by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF).
